| NAI REGISTERED COACHES | |||
| NAI Registered Coaches are eligible to act as individual coaches for people who choose the Advanced Certificate option in Eppley Institute's on-line interpretation curriculum (www.eppley.org). An Advanced Certificate may substitute for some requirements in the NAI Certification program. For a complete list of approved substitutions, please see the Certification Handbook and Study Guide. The Eppley on-line courses are NOT the same as the NAI Professional Certification Program or Certified Interpretive Guide or Host training, but are recommended as additional opportunities for professional development. If you are interested in securing the services of an NAI Registered Coach, you must contact the coach of your choice to determine availability and make a financial arrangement and agreement with that individual (coaching fee is usually $100, but may be subject to change under certain conditions). You must also register and pay for the Eppley Institute on-line course at www.eppley.org. If you are interested in becoming an NAI Registered Coach, you must fulfill the requirements to become a Certified Interpretive Guide instructor and additional coursework required by Eppley Institute and the National Park Service. Janie Besharse Milwaukee, WI 414-305-1268 jrbesh@mac.com Janie Besharse is an independent Certified Interpretive Trainer of NAI Certified Guides (CIG) and Hosts (CIH). She has worked with personnel from environmental centers and museums in Wisconsin and Illinois and has extensive personal experiences with National and local parks, zoos and museums. Janie established “Introduction to Science Interpretation” at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. Through this course, now being taught by Wehr Nature Center in Franklin WI, science majors may elect to become certified interpretive guides. Janie is also interested in climate issues and taught “Cool Power, Slowing Global Warming” and “Green Science in Urban Spaces at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. She currently teaches Energy Education graduate courses through the Wisconsin K-12 Environmental Education located at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. |

Sue earned a BS in Wildlife Biology and a MS in Zoology from Colorado State University. She is certified as a Training Specialist (CSU), Interpretive Trainer and Interpretive Guide (NAI), and as a Coach for Interpretive Talk (Eppley/NPS).
