The
following is the actual certification package for this category
but exam questions are not included. We hope this helps you in
assessing your desire to apply for certification. If you have questions

Instructions for Completion
1. This CIM package contains:

exam questions in two parts: Part 1 (short-answer) and Part 2 (essay)

bibliography of resource materials
If you do not receive all of these items, please contact the national office
immediately before proceeding &endash; 888-900-8283 (toll-free) or naiprograms@aol.com.
2. All required items must be completed and returned or certification will be
denied. Required items are:
Part 1 questions
Part 2 questions (any four of six)
evidence of performance
3. Part 1 and Part 2 exam questions are considered open-book; however, originality
of answers in part 2 will be part of the evaluation criteria. No answer in Part
1 or Part 2 may violate copyright laws or be a direct copy of material from any
written source unless specifically indicated otherwise in the exam question.
4. Use only the provided form in the package for response to Part 1 questions.
Responses must be typed (or computer generated) or printed neatly in the space
provided.
5. Part 2 questions may be answered on separate sheets; however, all responses
must be typed (or computer generated). Clearly indicate the questions to which
you are responding.
6. Place the identifying number on the cover of the CIM package on all materials
returned for evaluation. Do not place your name on any materials.
7. Videotapes and other evidence of performance will be returned with letter
of acceptance or denial following evaluation.
8. Failure to follow any of these instructions will result in a denial of certification.
Requirements for Evidence of Performance
Four copies of each of the following items are required as evidence of performance.
Submit only these items. If substitutions are submitted, they may or may not
be accepted as suitable evidence of performance at the discretion of the certification
review board.

Submit a videotape clearly showing the applicant in a personal appearance facilitating
a management level meeting, conducting training of subordinate staff, or performing
some other managerial duty which demonstrates the applicant's ability to interact
with and impact the performance of others under their management. Please note:
Video must be 30 minutes or less in length, but must show the entire presentation
from start to finish.
Special effects, titles, and other editing is not required and will not
add to your score. It is recommended that the video camera be mounted on a tripod
during filming and that the applicant wear a microphone.
The topic of the program will not be evaluated. How well the manager addresses
the topic and the response of the audience will be evaluated.
Item #2
Submit two examples (four copies each) of management plans (may include grant
proposals) with supplementary materials indicating successful implementation
of some aspect of the plans.
Supplementary materials may include videotapes, photographs, balance sheets,
attendance documentation or any other suitable evidence of successful implementation.
NOTE:
This information is almost exactly what you will find in
your certification packet with the addition of the actual exam questions,
a printed copy of the brief bibliography, and a copy of the video tips
