| Who are CIGs? |
Over the past several years, we’ve been collecting demographic data on NAI's Certified Interpretive Guide program. We've learned quite a bit about the program through the data, listed below. If you would like to download a PDF of this report, please click here.
Over 40 countries are represented, with one or more CIGs originating from that country
(this does not mean that they received the CIG training in that country, only that they
originated from that country). |
| Age |
The 20-29 age group largely represents college students and those starting new positions,
while the 30-59 age group are likely those who may have come to the interpretive
profession from another field or are volunteering while having other employment outside
the field. |

| Years of Experience in Interpretation |
This indicator tells us that the program is working primarily for the audience for which it
was intended – the new hire or volunteer with little on the ground experience. |

This split closely resembles the membership profile of NAI and seems typical of the
profession currently. |
