The CIG Program
For new hires, seasonals, docents/volunteers, individuals who will be, or already are, delivering interpretive programs or having public contact at interpretive sites but with no previous training in interpretation. Learn more at NAI’s web site.
Instructor
Lori Ann Palisi, CIT Lori Ann has been a Certified Interpretive Trainer since 2003 and has taught the CIG course for organizations that include Dolphin Encounters, Nassau, Ocean Park, Hong Kong and the The Living Desert, Palm Desert, CA. She holds four certifications from NAI, including Certified Interpretive Guide and Certified Interpretive Host.
Workshop Host
The Great Valley Museum of Natural History is one of the best kept secrets in the valley! We open minds, touch hearts and inspire actions towards discovering, appreciating and preserving our natural heritage. Science literacy and the unique Central Valley are promoted by engaging students, educators and the community alike. We also serve as a resource to educational institutions, including Modesto Junior College.
Certification Requirements
• Minimum age – 16
• Must attend a 32-hour workshop
• Complete program outline
• Create and present a10-minute program
• Complete an open book exam
• All requirements for certification are met during course of workshop
