Certification and Training
NAI offers training in a variety of content areas, some of which is related directly to certification and some of which is not. Basic training in interpretation presentation skills is offered through the Certified Interpretive Guide program. Basic training in mission-related customer service and informal interpretation is offered through the Certified Interpretive Host program. Certification is optional for each of these programs, offered by Certified Interpretive Trainers.

Additional training opportunities are provided in the areas of interpretive planning, training (required for CITs who wish to use NAI's CIG and CIH curricula), management, and advanced heritage interpretation including personal presentation skills and graphic design/writing skills. Check the calendar for additional training events and topics.
