NAI's membership categories correspond with the diverse incomes and jobs that are common in this field. These charts describe, in detail, the different NAI memberships, including benefits, descriptions, costs, and more.

Regions and Sections
NAI's regions and sections help members network with others who work near them or who work with similar subject-matter content. Each region and section produce quarterly newsletters and organize their own activities. Additional region/section memberships can be purchased at $10 each U.S. Domestic, $20 each international, per year.

Professional
Designed for the full-time interpreter.
Good Choice:
For only $20 more than the Basic, the Plus level offers the interpreter an incredible deal. We suggest you try to become a member at the Plus level because members find NAI's periodicals to be such invaluable resources.
Best Choice:
Become a Life member! Life members never have to renew, saving money over the life of your membership. Life members also receive all of the benefits of the Professional Plus level, and NAI offers a flexible payment plan to fit your budget! We have a flexible payment plan, allowing you to pay off the membership dues over a year's time to fit your budget. Click here to become a life member through the Enos Mills Fund.
Entry Level
Designed for newcomers to the profession and to NAI. Services are subsidized by professional, institutional, and commercial memberships. Entry memberships are available only for your first year of membership.
Student
Designed to offer the full-time college or high school student the opportunity to network with fellow students as well as professional interpreters. |

The Commercial membership category meets the needs of businesses that seek formal affiliation with our membership. Our 5,000 NAI members reside in all 50 states, Canada, and 32 other foreign countries. Individual members vary from school and university educators, to front-line interpreters, to park managers (in addition to more than 300 Institutional and over 100 Commercial members). |
