Summary
The National Association for Interpretation is pleased to announce its scholarship program for college students who are studying natural, historical, and cultural interpretation or are in a closely related field with career aspirations in the field of interpretation. The goal of the scholarship program is to recognize students who have the potential to make an outstanding contribution to the field of interpretation.
Scholarships include:
- Three $1,500 scholarships for graduate students
- Three $1,500 scholarships for undergraduate students
- Each student must be able to attend the NAI National Workshop. Students will be recognized at a scholarship breakfast as well as participate with the Workshop Committee in the Scholarship Auction.
Criteria
- Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Applicants must be students in the field of interpretation or a related field.
- Applicants must be members of the National Association for Interpretation through December 1.
- Applicants must be able to attend the NAI National Workshop.
- Previous national scholarship winners, NAI national and regional officers, scholarship
committee members, and members of their families are not eligible.
Selection Procedure & Timetable
- Applications received by Scholarship Chair: April 15
- Scholarship Committee screens applications & conducts phone interview: April 15 - May 15
- Students notified by committee chair: May
- Students receive scholarship checks: August
- Students attend national workshop: November
