3. Member Update

Membership at the end of March was 4198 with 94 new members and 90 renewals.

In mid-March the Membership Department started work with a new database. We are the first department to get to work with the database that will eventually include all departments of NAI. This will allow us to both process memberships faster as well as provide even better customer service. Working out the kinks in the new database has left us a little behind with data entry, but we are quickly getting caught back up.

April 1 saw the introduction of the new Interpretunities Web site. Now instead of a PDF that is sent to members as a blind link, members can get a user name and password to access a Web page with the job information. If you would like to check out the new site, please let me know and I can provide you with the user name and password. We have also started charging for job listings. Both have gotten good response from users.

We are currently working on new promotions and the Interpreting World Heritage Workshop.

Sincerely,
Jamie
