STAFF REPORT

Associate Director
Lisa Brochu

April 2007

Thanks to all who sent cards and kind thoughts related to my recent house fire. It's been a hectic time trying to get reorganized but I will be moving to a new house at the end of April and hope that things will settle down soon.

General Administrative
I am working with two task forces currently - a board reorganization task force and a strategic planning task force. Each of these task forces are working toward fulfillment of tasks generated by the strategic planning workshop held in February.

Certification
Tim and I taught a Host Trainers class in Pennsylvania - the largest such class ever with 28 participants. This will get our Host training throughout Pennsylvania State Parks and Cleveland Metroparks.

Definitions Project
The Definitions Project has been moved to definitionsproject.com.

International
The international conference in Vancouver was a success - we ended up with 175 delegates from 35 countries. We are still receiving invoices related to the conference but should have a final accounting ready within 30 days.

Due to the unavailability of gorilla trekking permits, we are switching the 2008 ecotour to Panama (working with a member organization as our tour provider - ANCON expeditions). The Uganda trip will take place in 2009.

Contracts & Speaking Engagements
Tim and I completed a 5-day consult in Hawaii on behalf of NAI with the Kohala-Surety Land Corporation in cooperation with member organization Hawaii Forest and Trail.
