Audit, Budget and Cash Flow
The budget report in this staff report
is not complete. Beth is catching up on accounting work after the
very successful IWH 2007 meeting in Vancouver. When caught up with
entries, we will repost these figures to be more accurate. Still,
the situation is good and we are performing better than projections
overall.
Business Plan
Performance toward business plan objectives is on
schedule with membership at 5100 by end of March, and growing respectably
in all categories.
Grants
We will work on the second phase of the EPA/NPS grant this
year to make what was learned through Sara Melena’s study of
nature and environmental centers more accessible.
Definitions Project
This project was completed and the website
up in late March and is being used by many. See http://www.definitionsproject.com
InterpPress
Sales of existing books go well. Our two books for
2007 are not yet under contract.
Investments
It is too early in 2007 to report on investments with
any certainty of performance.
Journal of Interpretation Research
We do not have our first manuscript
for editing yet but Carolyn Ward has indicated she has had many submissions
and should be able to turn out both issues this year on time.
Networking
March was very busy with the CIP in Oregon, CIH Trainers
course in Pennsylvania, consult in Hawaii, and Interpreting World
Heritage Conference in Vancouver. The IWH was excellent as an opportunity
to meet international colleagues.
Staff Changes
We will soon begin a search for a Sales Manager who
has responsibility for ad, book, and clothing sales along with co-sponsorships.
It will be posted on our website and advertised in northern Colorado
by print and Internet ads.
