2004 to August 12, 2005 includes $215,995 in confirmed (publicly
announced) gifts and $879,282 in pending contributions. Development
priorities to date include capital support, sponsorships, planned
giving, donor recognition and support for video equipment.
Legacy Trust Fund (LTF)
Our disclosed activity for the capital campaign equals $119,486
in confirmed cash and pledge commitments. This includes $33,313
from our audited adjustment. When added to the auditor-approved
capital contributions of $296,141, the total amount restricted
to our building fund equals $415,627.
Capital initiative:
The quiet-phase of the capital campaign is moving forward and we are excited!
An announcement of the actual progress will be made at the NIW in November.
Planned Giving
We have a signed gift agreement from Dick Taylor that confirms our first Charitable
Gift Annuity of $25,000. The fund will be invested into a high yield bond fund
and Dick will be sent quarterly fixed payments until the end of his lifetime.
When the fund matures, it will be used for scholarship support for attendance
at the NIW.
International Workshop 2006
The confirmed and pending sponsorships to date total over $60,000. Several corporations
are placing the proposals under review and we should have a response in the next
several months.
NIW 2005
The confirmed sponsorship of cash and gifts-in-kind to date equals $48,000 for
the Mobile workshop. Members from the states of Florida, South Carolina, Georgia
Region 3, and life members from Region 3 are recognized as co-sponsors. Proposals
sent to Vulcan Materials Company Foundation, Curtis and Edith Munson Foundation
and the Mobile Visitors’ Bureau are currently under review.
Grants
The Boettcher Foundation challenge grant for $25,000 has been confirmed.
The Gates Family Foundation will receive a quarterly report in August toward
meeting the challenge grant.
The proposal to The Ronda E. Stryker and William Johnson Foundation (for scholarship
support directed to the international workshop) is pending.
The Norcross Wildlife Foundation has accepted our letter of inquiry for $4,000
directed to computer and video equipment for the DVD production of the interpretation
training video. A formal proposal was sent forward this week and they will notify
us of the results in November.
