January 2008
Green Initiative
In order to print our magazines and other publications on environmentally friendly paper without raising costs, we have switched printers. Pioneer Printing in Cheyenne, Wyoming, is in the process of becoming certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and is printing our magazines on a recycled stock. We are now including the recycled logo on our publications.
Legacy
I am beginning production on the March/April 2008 issue (Interpreting Peace). The January/February issue (Changes in World Tourism) has been mailed.
Themes have been established through the July/August 2008 issue
and are as follow:
March/April 2008: Interpreting Peace
May/June 2008: Interpreting Great Oratories
July/August 2008: Stewardship of the Oceans
September/October 2008: Green Recreation and Tourism
November/December 2008: Green Architecture
January/February 2009: Interpreting Rivers
The Interpreter.
The January/February issue is at the printer. This is the first issue with the new printer on the recycled stock.
Journal of Interpretation Research
We printed two issues in 2007. JIR editor Carolyn Ward has scheduled 2008 issues for for April and November.
Speaking
I will be presenting a session on graphic design for interpreters with Shea Lewis at the Region 6 workshop in Tulsa next month. Also, Region 7 has asked that I present at its two-day spring workshop at the national office in May.
Schedule
I have scheduled some vacation time for the sprin and summer. My complete upcoming schedule is available
at www.interpnet.com/resources_leaders/staffschedule.shtml.
Respectfully,
Paul
