In late June and July, I took two weeks of vacation time so my report is a little light this month. While on vacation, Tim and I were married in our backyard in Fort Collins among family and a few friends.

Certification
In late June, we completed a CIP class in Cleveland. We have five more classes scheduled for 2008 and I will begin scheduling the 2009 workshops in August. We have had a record number of CIG and CIH classes this year to date so anticipate significant growth in the number of persons certified by the end of the year.

International
We are continuing negotiations with a finalist hotel in Athens, Greece for the 2009 international conference.

Administrative
I completed quarterly evaluations for my direct reports (Deb, Paul, Carrie) and am happy to report no problems.

Best Practices Focus Group
In pursuit of one of our strategic initiatives and business plan objectives, I have convened a focus group to help with input into the development of a “Best Practices” document. The focus group contains representatives from academia, government agencies, private non-profit and for-profit groups to get multiple perspective incorporated into the document.
