The Membership Department is working to improve our processes. We have created a schedule that will allow Tara and I, and any other staff member that has a few extra moments, to start calling new members. This will allow us to get feedback from the new members as to what they are looking for from their membership. We will also call a percentage of the renewing members to make sure they are aware of new benefits, such as the new NAI Members Only section of the website.

If you haven’t already done so, you should check out the new InterpNet website, www.interpnet.com. The site is completely revamped and in mid-May we launched the Members Only section of the website, www.naimembers.com/memberarea. It is a passworded area that members will be able to access. Currently the Interpretunities, Jobs in Interpretation and the NAI Forum (a message board for NAI members) are located in the members only section. We hope to continually add to this section of the website to help make NAI membership a truly interactive experience. We are always looking for additions for the area, so if you have any suggestions just let me know. The password is currently encrypted in the site, this will change on July 1. We are currently working on getting passwords out to members, this will happen in the last week of June.

Please register yourself on the forum if you haven’t already done so. Along with the member to member forums that are available, we also have a forum for those of you in leadership roles. If the Region/Section Leadership Forum doesn’t show up the first time you log in, don’t worry, I have to sign you up for it. We are asking that everyone use their first initial and last name, for example, mine would be JKing.

NIW Registration is picking up. We currently have about 80 registrations. We are aiming for 750+ by August 7, so keep spreading the word. The NIW information page should be up on the website by the first week of July.
