June 2006
InterpNet
We debuted the new InterpNet at the board meeting. It is now fully functional.
(If you encounter a problem, please let me know.)
NAI Now
The first "NAI Now" went out in early June and was well-received. The
monthly e-mail newsletter
will
include
very
short
blurbs,
most
of
which
will
have links
to further information,
and photos.
Legacy
The July/August issue ( How we view nature in our
daily lives), which includes an interview with Richard Louv, has gone to press.
Themes have been established through the March/April 2007 issue and are as follow:
• September/October
2006: Technology in Interpretation
• November/December 2006: Interpreting Sacred Places
• January/February 2007: Interpreting Sound
• March/April 2007: Interpreting War
The Interpreter.
The May/June issue has been mailed. I will begin work on the July/August issue
upon my return from vacation in late June.
InterpNews
The summer 2006 issue has gone to press. It will be the first to reflect
a redesign of the newsletter.
Journal of Interpretation Research
I have been promised materials for the first 2006 issue shortly. I will begin
production as soon as they arrive.
NIW
The registration packet has been mailed. Registrations are starting
to come in.
The NIW 2006 web site ( www.interpnet.com/niw2006 )
is fully functional, including online registration, and will grow considerably
between now and November.
The NIW 2007 logo has been finalized and will be unveiled in the summer InterpNews.
Schedule
I have vacation planned for June and July. My complete upcoming schedule is available
at www.interpnet.com/resources_leaders/staffschedule.shtml.
Respectfully,
Paul
