Development progress from November 1, 2004 to September 30, 2005 (including the EPA gift) totals $329,985 in confirmed gifts. Development priorities to date include capital support, sponsorships, planned giving, and donor recognition and support for video equipment.

Legacy Trust Fund (LTF)
Our LTF activity specifically directed to the capital campaign equals $160,578 in confirmed cash and pledge commitments from January 1, 2005 – September 30, 2005. When added to the auditor-approved capital contributions of $296,141, the total amount restricted to our building fund equals $456,719.

New Key Donors include: Gregory Benton, Lori Ann Palisi, Amy Galperin and Janice Elvidge.

International Workshop 2006
Over $150,000 in proposals has been sent to 12 corporations and foundations that endorse sponsorships for environmental and heritage education workshops. Most of these organizations will take our proposals under review during the months of November and December of this year.

NIW 2005
The confirmed cash sponsorship of cash for the Mobile workshop is $19,000. An additional $20,375 has also been received as gifts-in-kind from iZone and Ocean Spray. Proposals sent to Vulcan Materials Company Foundation, Curtis and Edith Munson Foundation and the Mobile Visitors’ Bureau are currently under review.

Donor Recognition

Both Dick Taylor and Gregory Benton were featured in the last InterpNews.

Grants
The $25,000 outright gift from the Boettcher Foundation was received September 6.

A proposal toward a $15,000 naming opportunity was sent to the Monfort Family Foundation and it is pending review.

The proposals to The Ronda E. Stryker and William Johnson Foundation, The Conservation Trust of Puerto Rico and the International Institute of Tropical Forestry (for scholarship support directed to the international workshop) are pending.

Personal Visits
During the first week of October, I attended a professional development seminar by the Sharpe Group in New York City. The three-day conference included Major Gift and Planned Giving information and it was presented by Robert Sharpe, Jr. and a NYC attorney. I also met with two of our commercial members, AcoustiGuide and Evelyn Hill, Inc.
