Certification and Training Calendar

Our professional development courses are split into two groups, Certification and Training. Depending on the level (training or professional level), certification can either be obtained through a workshop or through a peer review process. The entry level certification courses below (CIG™/CIH™) help students to complete some of the required portions of their certifications, while Training courses offer the chance to expand your knowledge in that a specific topic area. Certified Interpretive Guide Courses

Courses Offered by the NAI National Office

Workshops can be requested by contacting NAI at (888) 900-8283 ext.803. Professional categories of Certified Interpretive Trainer, Certified Interpretive Planner, Certified Interpretive Manager, and Certified Heritage Interpreter do not require attendance at a workshop to apply for or achieve certification. See certification handbook for details. However, the Certified Interpretive Guide Train the Trainers workshop or Certified Interpretive Host Train the Trainers workshop is required for anyone who wants to train others using NAI's CIG or CIH curricula.

Certified Interpretive Guide Train-the-Trainer

NAI teaches 5-7 CIG Train-the-Trainer and 3-4 CIH Train-the-Trainer workshops per year. Please stay tuned to this website for additional dates as they are posted once confirmed.
