Are you looking for training that combines non-formal interpretation skills with customer service? Do you want to train/certify staff and others on behalf of NAI? If so, this course is for you! Course prerequisite: CIG/CIH certificate or already certified as a CIT. See more below.
This course has two different tracks for attendance and certification.
- For individuals who are not current Certified Interpretive Trainers (CIT) with NAI, a virtual course of six days will be held January 25 - February 1, 2023 (see below for full schedule). You will learn how NAI teaches interpretation, what is expected for Certified Interpretive Host (CIH) certification and will complete two requirements for becoming a CIT.
- For individuals who are already certified as a CIT and are fully sanctioned as a CIG instructor (CIGT), attendance is required January 26 - 31, 2023. Once you take the class, you can use NAI's curriculum and certify staff and volunteers at your own site or serve as a contractor to sites without a trainer on staff.

This course will be a virtual offering, using Zoom as the platform. All times below are listed as Central Standard Time; the class schedule is as follows:
Wednesday, January 25, 10 AM - 4:30 PM CST
Thursday, January 26, 11 AM - 3:30 PM CST
Friday, January 27, 11 AM - 3:30 PM CST
Monday, January 30, 11 AM - 3:30 PM CST
Tuesday, January 31, 11 AM - 3:30 PM CST
Wednesday, February 1, 10 AM - 4:30 PM CST
Students will be mailed course materials the week before the course begins.
Costs? Cost for the workshop varies depending on the 6-day or 4-day option. Participants for the six-day course who are not current CITs will pay $550 Member/$625 nonmember. Current CITs with NAI who have taken the CIG Train the Trainer course will pay $250. Registration fee includes workshop materials, 4-6 days of instruction, & certification fee (for non-current CITs)
Special Terms and Cancellation
Cancellations must be made in writing and emailed, postmarked, or faxed. Emailed cancellations should be sent to profcertification@interpnet.com. Cancellations cannot be made by phone. Cancellations processed before January 9, 2023 will be subject to a $100 cancellation fee. Cancellations made after this date will not receive a refund.
No refunds will be given after January 9, 2023.
