Graphic Design Basics For Heritage Interpreters: Typography

10:00a Pacific/1:00p Eastern (60 MINUTES)
Paul Caputo

This webinar will earn 1 CE credit towards NAI recertifications.

This series is designed for interpreters who have little or no training in graphic design but find themselves responsible for creating nonpersonal media. Paul will discuss using what you already know about interpretation as a guide to creating effective nonpersonal media, informing decisions about graphic design.

A choice of typeface can change how your message is received. Sometimes even the most minute of differences can completely change how a specific font is perceived. This session will delve into selecting type and laying it out for content and readability.

Paul was hired as NAI's graphic designer in 2002, and is responsible for the organization's visual identity, including publications, websites, and logos. In his current role as deputy director, he conducts training on social media and graphic design, performs administrative duties in support of the executive director, and serves as the staff liaison with NAI's geographical regions and special-interest sections. Originally from the Philadelphia area, he lives with his two children in Fort Collins, Colorado, where he likes to write, run, and travel.
