About the Course
Are you interested in leading Certified Interpretive Host (CIH) courses for other interpreters? Interested trainers who have taken a CIH course and already have their Certified Interpretive Trainer (CIT) professional certification with the National Association for Interpretation (NAI) are eligible to enroll in this course and become sanctioned to teach the CIH curriculum.
This course is designed to prepare you to teach NAI's CIH curriculum. Learning alongside other participants, you will practice evaluating and giving feedback on interpretive presentations and develop a 20-minute training segment that you will present during the course. You will build your skills as a trainer and leave ready to award CIH certificates to interpreters at your own site, or serve as a contractor to sites without a trainer on staff.
You must take a CIH Train-the-Trainer course in order to teach the CIH curriculum. If you enroll in this course, you must have previously taken a CIH course and be a Certified Interpretive Trainer (CIT) with NAI by the day the course starts. The course will be held at Creek Bend Farm Nature Center. More arrival logistics will be shared upon registering. Course participants will have access to a kitchen area with a sink, microwave, and refrigerator.

Special Terms and Cancellation
Courses may be canceled due to low enrollment. Please register but do not book any non-refundable travel arrangements until at least one month before the course. NAI is not responsible for refunding travel and/or accommodation costs. In the event that this course is canceled, NAI will contact you and you will receive a full registration refund.
If you need to cancel your registration, cancellations cannot be made by phone and must be emailed to training@interpnet.com. Cancellations requested before March 29, 2024 will be subject to a $100 cancellation fee; after this date no refunds will be issued.
