COMBINED CIG & CIH Train-the-Trainers Course

October 15-19 (CIG Train the Trainer only)
October 21-22 (CIH Train the Trainer only)
Austin Nature and Science Center & Austin Zoo

Instructors: Karin Hostetter & Andre Copeland

This offering for 2019 gives participants the opportunity to become trained as both a CIG and CIH instructor in just eight days!  During the CIG Train-the-Trainers workshop (October 15-19) at the Austin Nature and Science Center, you will improve your skills as a trainer using NAI's Certified Interpretive Guide (CIG) curriculum. Once you take the class and pass the credential requirements for CIT, you can use NAI's curriculum and certify staff and volunteers at your own site or serve as a contractor to sites without a trainer on staff. This workshop is required for those who want to teach the CIG curriculum.

Then after a day off in between, the course will resume at a different locale at the Austin Zoo to complete the CIH Trainer portion. During October 21-22, participants will receive the curriculum materials you’ll need to teach the CIH course and you’ll also have the opportunity to earn your CIH certification if desired (for an additional fee).

Participants to this full course or to the CIG Train the Trainer portion, must have previously taken the CIG course and become certified or have the CHI certification. If you do not have these certifications, but would still like to be considered based on your experience, please contact Emily Jacobs, NAI Certification and Training Program Manager at ejacobs@interpnet.com.
