Coaching Interpreters Workshop

Have you ever wondered how to be a better coach for your staff? Are you looking for new coaching tools such as language and methods to review your interpreters? Do you struggle with the difference between coaching and supervision? If so, this new 3-day workshop is for you!  Building upon the requests from our membership for more management skills training, NAI offers this course to give you a chance to both learn and hone your coaching skills.  
During this course participants will study and practice skills including how to review a program, coaching styles and preferences and giving verbal feedback.  Throughout the offering, participants will take part in practicums designed to put new skills into practice, including coaching live interpreters.    

Logistics

Lodging can be obtained on your own, there are several hotels within 10 minutes or less of Riverbanks Zoo and Garden including: Embassy Suites (Greystone Blvd), Homewood Suites by Hilton, and Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Columbia-Airport.   

Meals

Each day mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks will be provided.  All other meals are on your own and there are several restaurants  a short driving distance away, the zoo’s in-park restaurant or you can bring your own.   

Airport

The major airport to the training site is Columbia Metropolitan Airport or Charlotte Douglas International Airport (about 90 minutes away).  Please do not plan to leave our course any earlier than 4pm on Thursday to catch your flight.

   

Registration

$325 USD for NAI members/$400 USD for non. Additional members from the same institution all receive $25 off for each additional staff member sent.  Please contact Emily Jacobs at ejacobs@interpnet.com or (970) 420-1032 for more information.  

Special Terms and Cancellation

Cancellations must be made in writing and emailed, postmarked, or faxed. Emailed cancellations should be sent to registration@interpnet.com. Cancellations cannot be made by phone. If you cancel 1-3 weeks prior to the course you will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made 1 week or less prior to the course will not receive a refund.  

No refunds will be given after September 24, 2018.

Wanting to add a second ticket for something you are already registered for? You will have to remove the first ticket and add 2 tickets (or however many you want) back on to your registration.
