Regional Parks of the Central Okanagan, in partnership with the National Association for Interpretation (NAI), is offering a training course for individuals in the field of Interpretation. It is designed for individuals who deliver interpretive programs or have contact with the public at interpretive sites.

The Central Okanagan of British Columbia is known for it’s wineries and fruit orchards. The course is to take place in the main city of Kelowna, which is located on the shores of Lake Okanagan, surrounded by pine forests and provincial parks. Downhill skiing at Big White Mountain Resort as well as a variety of cross country ski trails are close by. Consider coming a day early or leaving a day after the course to take in what the whole area has to offer.

Covid-19 considerations will be made in the running of this course. Additional distancing and spacing will be set up in our classroom space, we will expect folks to wear masks when indoors. You will need to show proof of double vaccination to participate in the course.

Course Options

There are two options for this course.

Option one: take the course without obtaining the CIG certificate.
Option two: take the course and add the certificate as a Certified Interpretive Guide (CIG). You will pay an additional fee for the certificate. The CIG lasts four years and comes with a complimentary one year membership. If you are already a member of NAI we will add your complimentary membership onto the end of your current membership.
