2019 Workshop - Heartland Region

Last day to register will be March 15, 2019. Registration at the workshop is only available if space allows.

What is included in the workshop fee?

  • Attendance at concurrent sessions with snack breaks, the exhibit hall, one offsite session, and two keynote presentations
  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner Thursday; lunch and dinner Friday; breakfast and lunch Saturday
  • Attendance at special events including: Wednesday evening social at the Dreyfus University Center with appetizers and cash bar; Thursday evening Central Waters Brewing Company tour, entertainment, dinner and cash bar; Friday evening awards dinner with live entertainment, auction, and cash bar

The one-day fee for Thursday includes:

  • Breakfast, lunch, and the Central Waters Brewing Company tour, entertainment, dinner and cash bar

The one-day fee for Friday includes:

  • Attendance at one offsite session with lunch

The one-day fee for Saturday includes:

  • Attendance at concurrent sessions with snack breaks and one keynote presentation
  • Breakfast and lunch

What is included in the guest fee?

Thursday: Breakfast, lunch, and the Central Waters Brewing Company tour, entertainment, dinner and cash bar
Friday: Awards dinner with live entertainment, auction and cash bar*
Saturday: Breakfast and lunch

Guests are also welcome to attend the Wednesday evening social at the Dreyfus University Center with appetizers and cash bar – no extra fee for this event!

*Guests wanting to attend a Friday offsite will need to register the Friday One-Day registration.

What lodging is available for the workshop?

Rooms have been blocked under NAI at three hotels. Contact the hotel to make your reservation. Your workshop fee does not include lodging.

Is there transportation between the hotels and the university workshop site?

The distance between the hotels and the university workshop site is about 1.3 miles. Free shuttle buses will travel between the two areas during workshop hours. However, if you would like more travel flexibility, you can purchase a pass to park on campus adjacent to the workshop site. Parking passes are $6 each day. Passes are not needed on Wednesday or Saturday.

Will onsite registration be available?

Onsite registration will only be accepted if space allows so register early!

What are my payment options?

Payment by credit card is accepted online only at the National Association for Interpretation website. If you would like to pay by check or require an invoice, mail your registration form to Trish Greninger, McHenry County Conservation District, 2112 Behan Road, Crystal Lake, Illinois, 60014. Make checks payable to NAI.

What should I do if I need to cancel my registration?

Cancellations must be requested in writing. Email or postmark your request by March 15, 2019 to Trish Greninger, McHenry County Conservation District, 2112 Behan Road, Crystal Lake, IL 60014 or to trishgreninger@gmail.com. Refunds will be processed minus a $50 cancellation fee. Refunds are not available after March 15, 2019 or for workshop and guest fees purchased onsite at the workshop.
