2017 NAI Region 6 Workshop

Interpretive Bridges: Connecting Art, Nature, History

The workshop committee has been working tirelessly on the workshop for nearly two years. This area of the state is constantly changing, much like our interpretive profession. Connections are waiting to be made here. We hope you will create those important interpretive bridges connecting art, nature, and history as you connect with your fellow interpreters. The annual NAI Region 6 workshop has been compared to a family reunion, and rightly so. Here you will have the opportunities for networking, attending concurrent sessions, off site sessions, and hopefully find some time for yourself to relax, reengage, and rejuvenate.

Northwest Arkansas is currently boasting a population of over 500,000 people, and our workshop is in the center of the action, with Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Beaver Lake, the Pinnacle Promenade Shopping District, several state parks, and Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport (XNA) all close by. Evenings bring the opportunity to network and meet fellow interpreters across the table at one of many restaurants. Tuesday is off-site session day, with the popular scholarship/professional development auction that evening (donation form available online in December). Wednesday evening is the culmination of our workshop with the awards banquet and a jam session with folk grass duo Still on the Hill.

Our paths have led us to this historic site rich in natural history and art. Create your interpretive bridges here!
