As an interpreter, have you ever thought about how people learn? Or how knowing this can create better opportunities for your messages to get across? If so, then this session is for you! Join this interactive webinar to talk with other interpreters about current research in neuroscience that helps give new insights on how learning happens. You’ll dive into ways you can support learning within the visitor experiences you create, and share strategies for transforming practice at your site.

Lindzy Bivings is the Senior Manager of School & Community Programs at the California Academy of Sciences. She oversees multilingual field trips, distance learning, educator professional development, and family events. She received her B.A. in Environmental Studies from UC Santa Cruz, and an M.S. in Science Education from Oregon State University.

Kate Miller is the Senior Manager of Curriculum and Teaching for the Youth Initiatives Department at the American Museum of Natural History. She received her B.A. in Astrophysics from Princeton, and an M.A. in Science Education from Teachers College at Columbia University.

Daniel Zeiger is the Assistant Director for Children and Family Learning at the American Museum of Natural History. He spends the bulk of his time encouraging young children to engage with the natural world while working to build institutional capacity to reach children from all walks of life.
