The National Museum of the American Indian shares methods to engage visitors with indigenous history and culture in inclusive ways to change the narrative of the American story. This webinar is intended for professional development around the issues of engaging with audiences in a more inclusive manner with facilitated dialogue while still upholding the integrity of the content in interactive ways.

Mandy Van Heuvelen is the Cultural Interpreter Manager at the National Museum of the American Indian and is an enrolled member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe in South Dakota. Mandy leads a team of 5 interpreters that serves over 40,000 visitors annually and she was the guiding force behind the re-development of the museum’s student programs.

Ami Temarantz is the Lead Cultural Interpreter at the NMAI and she supported the development, training, and facilitation of the museum’s new student programs.

For NAI Institutional and Commercial members wishing to purchase attendance for multiple staff members: the first registrant will pay normal pricing and each additional registrant will run $20. Anyone wishing to gain Certification renewal hours from the webinar will have to login to the webinar on their own computer.
