Controversy

Addressing Sensitive Subjects in Non-Personal Interpretation
10:00a Pacific/1:00p Eastern (60 MINUTES)
Ray Radigan

Whether it’s an uncomfortable historic event or a hot button political issue, addressing controversial topics in signage, publications, and online can be even more difficult than face-to-face. With a limited number of characters to interpret a topic that inflames passions, how can you be succinct, thoughtful, and respectful?

Ray is the Curator at Memorial Hall Museum in Deerfield, MA and has spent the last decade working as in interpreter for the National Park Service and several non-profit museums. With extensive experience drafting and designing waysides, museum/VC exhibits, web and social media content, and publications, Ray has interpreted everything from wolves to ice cream. Both of which were controversial.
