NAI 2021: The Shifting Sands of Interpretation
NAI 2021's theme, "The Shifting Sands of Interpretation," addresses not just the distinct, beautiful landscape of Palm Springs, California, but the many changes happening in our profession and the world at large. Sessions will highlight how interpreters are navigating the shifting sands, and what the future holds on the other side.
Speaking of change, NAI is planning a hybrid in-person/virtual conference in 2021. If you can't make it to Palm Springs for the event, we'll miss you, but you can join us online!
NAI 2021 will highlight issues critical to expanding our horizons at interpretive sites. Greg DeShields of Tourism Diversity Matters will address interpretation's role in diversity, equity, and inclusion in the hospitality and tourism industry, and Charles Thomas, founder of Outward Bound Adventure's Diverse Outdoor Leaders Institute, will detail his organization's efforts to ensure all youth have access and opportunity to engage in meaningful nature-based programs.
Explore the amazing natural and cultural heritage of this unique corner of the world—from San Andreas Fault and Joshua Tree National Park to the home of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla and the history and architecture of Palm Springs.
Stay where all the action is! We’ve negotiated a great rate of $132 at our host hotel, the Westin Hills Golf Resort & Spa.
