The Process of Interpretive Planning course is designed to build upon your experience and knowledge of interpretation to help you develop a comprehensive understanding of how to create an interpretive plan for a site or organization. During this course you will take part in practicum activities and create one component of an interpretive plan.

This 40-hour course covers:

  • Introduction to the essentials of interpretive planning

  • Developing a theme hierarchy
  • Choosing appropriate media
  • Evaluating impact

About the Instructor

Dr. David Bucy, CIP brings a wealth of knowledge obtained from over thirty-five years of experience as a trainer and interpretive planner as a principal of Bucy Associates, which specializes in providing interpretive planning and training throughout the U.S. and abroad. A Ph.D. from the University of Idaho with a specialty in Interpretation and Communication Theory enhances his expertise. Dave has served as an NAI board member, presenter at NAI regional and national workshops, and is a long-time member of NAI.
