Innovation + CIG: Turning Loss Into Gain

10:00a Pacific/1:00p Eastern (90 MINUTES)

Many of us are experiencing budget cuts and their effects on guest interactions at our sties. When these cuts affect our interpretive programs by eliminating guest experience positions, what are we to do? This is the question we had to answer at Brookfield Zoo in 2016, and the Certified Interpretive Guide course was the key.

Andre Copeland, Interpretive Programs Manager at the Brookfield Zoo, holds NAI certifications as a CIG Instructor and Interpretive Planner. He is also a Master Trainer with NAI and the Deputy Director of NAI’s ZWPA community. Andre’s 27 year experience includes animal care, program management, budget projection and tracking, and community engagement.
